Affiliated Authors

At Phoenix Book Corner, we are delighted to build meaningful partnerships with authors who share our passion for books, readers, and the book fairs. For each fair, we have three affiliated authors with a dedicated platform to connect with new audiences and promote their work.

Our affiliation programme offers authors valuable visibility through targeted advertising, invitations to take part in special authors’ evenings, and display of their books at our book fairs.

We are proud to support independent authors and to create welcoming spaces where their stories can be discovered, discussed, and celebrated. If you would like to learn more about becoming one of our affiliated authors, we would be pleased to hear from you.

Authors’ Evenings

Affiliated authors may also be invited to take part in an authors’ evening organised by Phoenix Book Corner. These events are intended to provide a welcoming setting for authors to meet readers, discuss their work, and share the stories behind their books.

The event support may include:

Inclusion in the evening’s programme and promotional announcements.
A hosted author presentation, reading, or informal conversation about the author’s work.
An opportunity for audience questions and direct discussion with readers.
Time for book signing, personal dedications, and photographs, where appropriate.
A suitable space for displaying and presenting the author’s books.
Coordination of the event schedule, introductions, and general running order by Phoenix Book Association

The precise format, date, duration, location, and number of participating authors will be agreed in advance. Authors are responsible for providing accurate promotional information and attending the event as agreed; arrangements concerning book stock, sales, signing materials, and any additional requirements will be confirmed separately before the fair or authors’ evening.

I’ve created this space as a kind of sanctuary, a calm, supportive place where I share the writing, practices, and tools that helped me rebuild my life after everything I thought I could rely on fell away.

D Michelle Gent

Michelle was born in the middle of Derbyshire and moved to the middle of Nottinghamshire.
She has always loved the weird and wonderful, iconic horror and urban fantasy, and one day, she decided to write the story she wanted to read, and her beloved character, 'Red' from the Wolf series of novels was 'born'.
Red's story was soon joined by a seven short-story set written about dystopian half-demon teenager 'Dusty'.
The story of Ash became a tale that she wanted to write, but seemed to be able to put off for another day, until Ash would no longer be put off.
Between writing Ash and starting, but not completing other tales, such as 'Biker', 'Daughters of Le Fey', and 'Finlay Moran', Michelle also wrote a short story anthology - 13

After a life-altering operation to remove cancer, she and her husband, plus an ark's worth of animals moved to the middle of France.

After a couple of years taking it easy and making sure her recovery was sustainable, Michelle reconnected with her love of reading and writing. Ash and the Favour Man was published and entered into The People's Book Prize competition.

Ash and The Favour Man won the 2024 Frederick Forsythe award for Fiction, much to Michelle's delight.

Ash and the Faceless Man as also won the same award in the People's Book Prize 2026.

Guy Robin

Guy and his wife Paula live in the Dordogne in France. When not busy exploring their region and beyond, they spend time working in the garden. The writing process has very much become a partnership, with Paula taking the first draft of the new manuscripts from Guy and diligently proof reading and copy editing the pages.

Guy began writing in 2020, during the restrictions imposed by the Covid pandemic. He is keen to explore a variety of genres and writes as a cathartic and engaging hobby. Having now completed four books Guy is already busy with a new project.

Since arriving in France Guy has been able to continue enjoying his passion for motorcycling. Discovering quiet routes and beautiful towns as he rides across the country. He is a collector or British, US and Olympic stamps. He also collects Scottish single malt whisky.
